Fellowship

The world will tell you that your faith is a private part of your life that should be kept separate from your "normal" day to day existence, but that is a lie.

Fellowship is God's idea: “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:9)

The Holy Spirit works through our fellowship to accomplish His purposes in the world: “
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.” (Acts 2:42-43)

After Mass

Each Sunday after Mass we gather informally for tea, coffee, juice, and light refreshment provided by the parish. We sit or stand, some step outside, and share our thoughts and experiences. At times we've even been know to break out in unplanned prayer for one who is in need.

During covid restrictions we follow social distancing and other governmental guidelines.

Parish meals

Once a month we come together after Mass to enjoy a meal together. Those who are able bring cooked and other prepared food, others a purchased item or two, and together we sit at table and discuss our lives of faith and issues of the day.

We suspended these meals during covid lockdown, and look forward to resuming this fellowship in the near future.

Special activities & events

At times during the year we plan special events. Some are as simple as a day trip to the beach or fruit picking. Others are longer and more involved, usually including friends, families, and/or guests. For example, a Cursillo is designed for individual spiritual development, whereas a Family Camp focuses on families and relationships.  Both are often held over a bank holiday, and include teaching and other activities along with fellowship.

These events too have been curtailed, but as covid restrictions lift we are slowly introducing smaller-scale activities.
